Welcome to the Alden House Bed and Breakfast, a fine example of "In-town elegance." This 1850 brick Federal style house is located in the center of the Lititz Historical District within strolling distance of local attractions, unique shops, and fine dining. It's the perfect location to enjoy the ambience of the charming town of Lititz while being centrally located in Lancaster County, PA.
The Alden House has been professionally restored with modern amenities while retaining all its original charm. The high ceilings, striking staircase, cozy dining room, and comfortable rooms and suites all remind guests of another era, a time when the pace was just a little slower. For pictures and a detailed description of each room click on "Rooms & Amenities"

Breakfast at the Alden House is an experience to remember. Each morning guests are treated to a full breakfast including beverages, fruit, main entree, meats, breads or muffins, and always dessert (an Alden House specialty). Entrees might include omlettes, quiche, ebleskivers, or our signature ployes (French Acadian crepes) with Wilbur cinnamon drops. Desserts vary from cakes, such as apple cake, to delectable puddings, maybe lemon cake pudding, to homemade Danish and breakfast cheesecake. (We try to accomodate special dietary needs, including gluten-free items, with advance notice.)
For the convenience of our guests, there are snacks and beverages always available (don't miss the Wilbur Buds in the candy dish near the front door). Take time to notice the antiques, artwork, and assorted collections scattered throughout the house. There is ample off-street guest parking behind the inn. Relax on one of our three porches; linger by the garden and fishpond (be sure to ask about our resident heron); and simply enjoy the good life. The Alden House brings you old-fashioned hospitality with all of the amenities one expects in today's world. Come for a night, come for a week, come and be our guest!
"It doesn't get any better then this. Great location, great food, great hosts!" Larry and Traci Moretti
Lititz
| Lititz was named a Distictive Destination by the National Trust for Historic Preservation for 2009 |
The town of Lititz, located in the center of Lancaster County and in the midst of Amish country, was founded in 1754 and is rich in historical attractions. The Moravian Church, Linden Hall School for Girls, the Mueller House and Museum, and General John Sutter's grave are among the many historic sites that beckon visitors. Along Main Street, many of the 18th century buildings remain with their low doorways, wavy glass, and old brick.
It might surprise you to know that Lititz is home to our country's oldest pretzel bakery, the nation's oldest girls' boarding school, and one of the oldest 4th of July celebration in the U.S. A visit to Lititz is truly a step back in time---the streets and town reminiscent of hometowns of yesteryear.
Dining
Lancaster County is a smorgasbord of flavors. There are restaurants nearby to satisfy all tastes. Choose from fine dining to casual menus, family-style service to ethnic specialties. With prior arrangement, we can even arrange a dinner in an Amish home. We frequently recommend dining at Haydn Zug's, Reflections, Lily's on Main and, within walking distance, General Sutter's 1764 Restaurant. Also, just a few steps from our front door, delicious chocolate delectables at the Chocolate Cafe. Whatever your dining choice, we are happy to make reservations for you or assist you with additional recommendations. Of course, advance notice helps ensure your dining preference.
